Day one mixing the PANTECHNICON album. The first track up is Turf War, which may turn out to be the hardest of all of them. Check out the automation view in the screenshot – and that’s not all done yet! Hopefully, a lot of the work I’ve had to put into setting this track up will carry over to the other tunes (drum channels etc.), so after this, things should speed up. More to come…
Guy Hatton's PANTECHNICON is a suite of compositions for small electric jazz ensemble, and the group gathered to perform them.
The first performance took place at the Harrogate International Festival fringe in July 2010, and subsequently at the Grove Inn Jazz Club in Leeds in November 2010.
The CD of Guy Hatton's PANTECHNICON was released on September 5 2011, and features: Guy Hatton (guitar), Phil Meadows (alto & soprano saxophones, electronics), Graham Clark (electric violin), Dave Evans (keyboards), Roger Inniss (bass guitar) and Jose Williamson (drums). The album is also available as a digital download from iTunes, Amazon and other online stores.
"The best jazz gig in Harrogate since Wayne Shorter" Graham Chalmers, Fringe Festival Director.
"Full of imagination and melody." Harrogate Advertiser 23-07-2010
"Superb! Lots of ideas and textures and really strong melodies. Reminiscent of the very best jazz rock a la Colisseum, Brand X as well as very contemporary sounding." Reg Clegg, JET Collective.
